From my first visit to Pensacola Beach more than 25 years ago, I knew this was the place to retire.  I am a transplant from Cincinnati, OH, where I retired from Procter & Gamble with 29 years.  After that first experience of driving from mainland Pensacola, over the 3-mile bridge to the peninsula of Gulf Breeze, and then over a second bridge to a barrier island;  sitting out in the Gulf of Mexico right before my eyes, was -- without a doubt --  the most beautiful sight I had ever seen.  A Paradise Island surrounded by water.  I couldn’t believe this was actually in the United States and only 12 hours from Cincinnati!  I saw immediately why they say this is the “best kept secret in the State of Florida.”  No where on earth can you find this level of natural beauty with our low property prices.  Anything close to the beauty of our beaches and our island is typically double in price.  From that day forward my husband and I spent the years vacationing on Pensacola Beach and slowly buying our small piece of Paradise here on Pensacola Beach.
